Points for Professional Year:

To be eligible for additional points, your professional year must have been completed in Australia in the four years before you are invited to apply for a visa and it must be in your nominated occupation or a closely related occupation. The year must have been completed over a period of at least 12 months and provided by an authorised organisation including the Australian Computer Society, CPA Australia, Chartered Accountant of Australia and New Zealand, the Institute of Public Accountants (formerly the National Institute of Accountants) or Engineers Australia.

Monash Professional Year:

As a new international engineering, accounting or ICT graduate it can be challenging to find full-time professional employment in Australia. This 44-week (minimum), Department of Home Affairs approved program will enable you to achieve your career goals and overcome obstacles to employment. You will maximise your employment prospects by gaining the knowledge, skills and workplace experience employers are looking for.

Performance Education:

Navitas Professional Year Program:

The Navitas Professional Year Program is a professional development program combining formal learning and an Australian internship placement. Navitas Professional is the only provider able to offer the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Professional Year Program, Engineers Australia’s Professional Year in Engineering and Skilled Migration Internship Program – Accounting (SMIPA) nationwide. The program gives international graduates the skills to gain employment and excel in their chosen field. Successful completion provides eligibility for migration points towards permanent residency.

ACS Professional Year Program:

The ACS Professional Year Program in ICT/Computing (PYear) is a job-readiness program which bridges the gap between full-time study and professional employment. The PYear is designed to equip graduates with the professional skills needed for a successful career in the Australian workforce.

Australian Technical and Management College:

ATMC offers Professional Year programs through the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for information technology graduates and accounting programs through the Skilled Migration Internship Program: Accounting (SMIPA). The Professional Year (PY) Program is specifically designed for international students who have graduated from an Australian university and are looking for a successful pathway from university to employment and residency in Australia.  Professional Year is a job preparation program that will equip you with the professional skills necessary for a successful career in the Australian workforce.

Engineering Education Australia:

The Professional Year in Engineering Program helps engineering graduates develop and enhance their employability skills, which employers demand. Gain insight into the Australian workplace and employment market in this unique 44-week work-readiness program.

SIMPA (CPA Australia):

The Skilled Migration Internship Program: Accounting (SMIPA) is a professional year program approved by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), available to overseas students who have an Australian accounting degree qualification as a result of at least two years’ study in Australia.

Engineers Australia:

The Professional Year in Engineering course is a comprehensive program that will prepare you to work as an engineer in Australia. It lasts for 44 weeks, giving you time to learn about the expectations of employers, begin building your network, and create a plan for career success.

The first 32 weeks consist of online study and classroom workshops, followed by 12 weeks of work placement at a professional organisation. During this time you will develop a thorough understanding of our work conditions, health and safety requirements, and other important aspects of working as an engineer in Australia.

The University of Queensland:

The Professional Year Program is designed to kick-start the careers of international accounting and engineering graduates in Australia. It also provides eligibility for migration points towards permanent residency. PYP prepares you for your new career with relevant, practical training and workshops, a professional internship and networking opportunities.

The William Light Institute:

The program has been specified by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection for the General Skills Migration points test for all eligible holders of the 485 Temporary Graduate Visa (Graduate Work stream) – (subclass 485) or Bridging Visa.
